We are rejoicing because Sunday at 5:15 am Poppop went home to be with His Lord. He is with his son, Mike and his mother:) This is a time to praise the Lord knowing that we will see him again. All the arrangements have been made and the viewing is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday evening 5-8 and the Memorial Service on Friday at 2pm at Word of Life. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Word of Life, Hudson Florida or First Baptist Church New Port Richey building fund.
This is such a great loss for our family but an incredible addition to heaven. Here is the Legacy portion of the program my mom and I wrote yesterday in Poppop's honor.
The measure of a man’s life consists of many things. The legacy that Jack left to us was evidenced in the way he lived his life. By his words and example we learned to love the Lord first and foremost. He was our role model and patriarch of faith.
We learned to love and value family through his love and commitment to marriage for over 58 years and his devotion to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. His integrity and life example challenged us to be wise, inventive, resourceful, creative, honest, true to our word and godly.
His strong sense of adventure inspired us to view life as a journey. Jack often quoted Psalm 127:5, “Blessed is the man whose quiver is full,” and even with 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, he never believed his quiver was quite full enough.
He lived his life unselfishly, putting others first with no desire for recognition. Even during his last days his primary concern was for others. He lived his life with an eternal mind set giving his time, talent and all he had, in complete surrender, to honor and serve the Lord.
“Only one life will soon be passed only what’s done for Christ will last.”
May we all, like you, our champion, run with endurance the race set before us.
We love you;
Jack, the love of my life, my best friend
Dad, our role model and mentor
PopPop, our Hero
